Curitiba, Brasil, março de 2022 –Curitiba, Brazil, March 2022 – Peróxidos do Brasil, a joint venture between the Solvay Group and Produtos Químicos Makay (PQM), carries out a series of new strategic investments in Brazil and Chile to increase its peroxide production capacity of hydrogen (H₂O₂).
The company's objective, through a continuous pace of investments in expansions, cutting-edge technologies and innovative and sustainable solutions, is to keep in line with the growth of its customers in the different application markets in the South American region.
At the industrial plant in Curitiba, Brazil, the current production capacity of 230 thousand tons per year will be increased to 250 thousand tons per year with the conclusion of the investments in the fluid lines of the H₂O₂ synthesis process.
In Imperatriz, our unique myH2O2® technology has recently received a new generation of catalyst, increasing the reliability of this customer dedicated plant.
In Chile, work continues on the new hydrogen peroxide production unit in the Coronel Industrial Park, in the Bio Bio region, the first industrial unit for this product in the country.
The plant was initially designed for 23,000 tonnes per year, but a new environmental permit, obtained this year, will substantially increase production capacity to 40,000 tonnes per year, also increasing investment to a total of US$60 million.
All equipment for the synthesis process, hydrogenation and oxidation reactors and the extraction column are already installed. The new plant, scheduled for completion this year, is being built in the same area where the Peroxidos de los Andes Distribution Terminal operates.
“As part of its growth ambition, the new investments will raise the nominal capacity to 300 thousand tons per year, allowing it to follow the market growth until the approval of the next investment scheduled for 2024”, comments Carlos Silveira, CEO of Peroxides do Brasil.

products for our daily lives: food and beverages, personal care products and cosmetics, soaps
and detergents, pulp and papers, metals, plastics and polymers, in addition to medical-hospital
